Indoor Air Quality, Mould & Building Biology

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is a building science dedicated to the indoor environment and the potential contaminants associated with the design, construction and uses of commercial and residential buildings. An Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) can investigate potential health issues associated with the building materials, allergens, the driving forces of moisture and humidity, and HVAC systems.

Investigations are not limited to mould and include a wholistic approach to the built environment and the human response to indoor environmental pollutants. This area of speciality amalgamates industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, HVAC systems, building and construction science with public health which are a unique combination. Atmos personnel undergo continuing education and training in this field in conjunction with industrial hygiene and microbiology to continually evolve as a specialist environmental and indoor health consultancy.
